CROP Walk 2005

CROP WALK 2007, October 14
First United Methodist Church, DeKalb, 2 pm

Mayfield Church is a missions-driven congregation. Our members are encouraged to serve the homeless and suffering in quiet ways, close to home and globally.  We are situated in the most fertile farmland in the nation, and because of our strong ties to agriculture in this area, hunger relief has always been one of our most passionate commitments.  Our members volunteer monthly at the DeKalb Food Pantry and participate each year in the DeKalb County North Crop Walk.  For 2004-2005, our Missions Board has undertaken expanded involvement with Heifer Project International.

Mayfield contributed 25 baskets of Thanksgiving food items to the Salvation Army food drive in November 2006, a new record for our congregation!

  Supporting Our Church's Wider Mission

Mayfield Church is also committed to supporting Our Church's Wider Mission by joining resources with other United Church of Christ congregations to address many human needs beyond our own neighborhoods.  We know that our combined efforts CAN make positive change happen on a scale not otherwise possible.
